Winnetka combines the two hardest things about North Shore exterior work: large historic homes and difficult ground.

East of Sheridan Road the lots run toward the bluff, and the lake facing elevation of a Winnetka home is often two full stories higher than the street side with a slope rather than a lawn at its base.
